Greater Shepparton City Council is reminding the community that time is running out to provide feedback on the development of the new Universal Access and Inclusion Plan 2026–2030, with the community survey closing this Saturday 28 February 2026.
In Summary
The Universal Access and Inclusion Plan will guide Council’s priorities over the next four years to ensure Greater Shepparton continues to be an inclusive, accessible and welcoming region for all. The Plan identifies ways to address barriers faced by people with a disability, while promoting equal access to education, employment, volunteering and participation in community life.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, encouraged residents to take advantage of the remaining opportunity to provide input.
“Community feedback is essential in shaping a plan that reflects the needs, experiences and priorities of people living in Greater Shepparton,” he said.
Insights gathered through the survey will directly inform the development of the Draft Universal Access and Inclusion Plan 2026–2030. These actions will be supported by the Greater Shepparton Disability Advisory Committee, which advocates on behalf of people with a disability and helps guide Council’s future directions.
Disability Advisory Committee Councillor Representative, Cr Sam Spinks, said every response helps Council better understand the diverse experiences of residents.
“People with a disability are not a single group – their needs and circumstances vary widely,” she said.

Alternatively, hard copy surveys are available at Council’s Customer Service Counter at 90 Welsford Street, Shepparton. Completed hard copy surveys can be emailed to positiveageing@shepparton.vic.gov.au.
If you would like to chat to someone in person, face-to-face consultation sessions will be held at the Summer City Market at the Maude Street Precinct tomorrow, Friday 27 February, from 9am to 5pm, and Saturday 28 February, from 9am to 2pm.
