Monday 24th of November, 2025,
Greater Shepparton City Council is inviting local community groups and not-for-profit organisations to take part in this year’s Christmas Community Gift Wrapping service.
In Summary
Community groups and not-for-profit organisations are invited to volunteer for the 2025 Christmas Gift Wrapping service in Shepparton’s City Central.
Groups are asked to provide at least one volunteer per day for one week between 4 and 24 December, with all materials supplied by Council.
Participating groups will receive a Council donation plus any additional public contributions raised during their rostered week.
Applications close Friday 28 November 2025. Interested groups can contact Council’s Place Manager to get involved.
The service will operate from a pop-up space in City Central Shepparton from Thursday 4 December to Wednesday 24 December 2025. Groups are asked to provide at least one volunteer each day to wrap gifts from 10am to 4pm for one week. All wrapping materials will be supplied by Council.
Participating groups will receive a donation from Greater Shepparton City Council, along with any additional donations collected during their allocated period.
The gift wrapping service forms part of Council’s A Wonder Filled Summer Christmas campaign, which encourages people to shop local and enjoy festive activities across Greater Shepparton.
Shoppers visiting the CBD will also be able to take advantage of complimentary parking during the Christmas period, running from 1 December 2025 to 31 January 2026.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, encouraged community groups to take part.
“This is a great opportunity for local groups to raise funds and help bring festive spirit to our community,” he said.
Council’s Place Manager, Bonnie McIntosh, said the program continues to be a positive opportunity for groups to connect with the community.
“We see wonderful support from shoppers each year and it makes a real difference to local groups,” she said.
“It is easy to take part. All materials are supplied and the funds raised go straight back to the volunteers’ own organisations.”
Applications close Friday 28 November 2025, with applicants notified of the outcome on Monday 1 December 2025.
