Set against the backdrop of Greater Shepparton’s picturesque landscapes, the festival highlights the varied talents and cultural diversity within the community. From captivating performances to thought-provoking exhibitions, the Shepparton Festival embodies the essence of creativity, uniting individuals from all walks of life.
Shepparton Festival Director, Kristen Retallick, said she was excited for the festival to kick-off, and for our community to enjoy the wide variety of events.
“While planning and preparing the 2024 Shepparton Festival, I have maintained a sensitivity and awareness of the way that sharing arts experiences impacts our community. All people involved in creating art, as well as those who view, hear and feel it will bring their own ideas, and walk away with new ones. We bring a ‘conscious creative’ to our program this year, guided by the work of our artists and the insights people share with us.”
This year’s festival line-up is nothing short of spectacular, featuring a mix of events and activities to suit every taste and interest. Attendees can look forward to immersive art installations, live music performances, engaging workshops, and much more.
In collaboration with Shepparton Festival, Converge on the Goulburn is taking place on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 April in Shepparton, bringing an expanded program packed with diverse experiences, stories and engaging activities for everyone to enjoy. This multicultural and First Nations festival invites community members and visitors to immerse themselves in a vibrant celebration of culture, complete with delicious food, colourful performances, and captivating music. Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said the Shepparton Festival promises to be an exciting time for the region and encouraged everyone to make the most of the wide variety of events.
"Shepparton Festival is one like no other. The festival is a true reflection of our people, culture, and way of life, making it a standout event not only for our region but for the entire state,” he said.
“Let's all join in, whether that’s participating in workshops, performances, music, visual art, exhibitions, poetry or the delicious food. It is our chance to shine a spotlight on the Greater Shepparton community. Spread the word to friends and family, both near and far.”
