Greater Shepparton City Council is thrilled to announce that Shepparton has been selected as a finalist in the 2025 TAC Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards.
In Summary
This fantastic recognition highlights Shepparton’s rise as a must-visit destination, securing its spot among 25 finalists across three categories, Top Tourism Town (population over 5,000), Small Tourism Town (population between 1,500 and 5,000), and Tiny Tourism Town (population under 1,500).
Community support is vital, with the public vote the final stage in determining the winners. Voting opened at 9am today Friday 6 June and closes at 5pm on Friday 27 June.
On top of this great achievement, Shepparton & Goulburn Valley has also been selected to host the Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards ceremony, a prestigious event previously held in destinations such as the Yarra Valley, Sorrento and Lancefield.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, encouraged the community to get involved and help Shepparton secure victory.
"We invite community members to vote and encourage their family and friends to do the same! Let’s put Shepparton in the spotlight and secure the title of Victoria’s Top Tourism Town," Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali said.
“This nomination is also an excellent opportunity to raise the profile of Shepparton as a tourist destination. Visitors are often surprised by what Shepparton has to offer. This recognition allows us to share our wonderful attractions, not only with the rest of Victoria but also with our own community.
“Council is excited to be hosting this year’s Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards ceremony. This is a wonderful opportunity to welcome Victoria Tourism Industry Council and fellow award nominees to the region, ensuring Shepparton & Goulburn Valley takes centre stage.”
The state winners will be announced at the Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards evening, to be held at the Museum of Vehicle Evolution (MOVE) on Wednesday 23 July.
