Greater Shepparton City Council is excited to launch the 2025–26 Summer Activities in the Park program, running from December to February and offering a wide range of free and low-cost activities across the region.
In Summary
This season’s program features more than 110 activities designed to get people outdoors, active and connected during the warmest months of the year. The program encourages the community and visitors alike to get out and enjoy local parks, open spaces and events throughout the holiday period.
A key highlight this summer is the Big Bash on the Big Screen event on Wednesday 7 January 2026 at Victoria Park Lake in Shepparton. The free evening includes cricket coaching, activity sessions, live entertainment, food trucks and the Melbourne Renegades v Perth Scorchers match shown on the big screen.
Activities span the full summer calendar and include stand-up paddle boarding, pedal boats, T-ball, kayak sessions, soccer clinics, cricket workshops, fitness classes, creative experiences and more. Popular favourites return alongside new activities for families, young people and older adults.
A number of sessions will be delivered in smaller towns including Tatura, Toolamba, Dookie, Congupna, Merrigum, Tallygaroopna and Murchison to ensure the whole region can participate.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, encouraged everyone to get involved and explore the program.
“Summer is a time for being outdoors and enjoying our local parks, lakes and facilities,” he said.
For updates on the activities, residents and visitors can get their copy of the program flyer by visiting the Activities in the Park website or following Activities in the Park on Facebook and Instagram.
For even more fun this December, residents and visitors are encouraged to follow the Christmas Trail map and enjoy festive experiences across the region. More details are available on Council’s A Wonder Filled Summer webpage.
