Greater Shepparton City Council wishes to advise that the next stage of construction works to upgrade the stormwater drainage network along Marungi Street, Shepparton, will soon commence.
Following successful completion of stage 1 of the project, stage 2 works will begin on Monday 12 January 2026.
Traffic changes for stage 2 will be in place from Monday 12 January. Details of the closures are outlined in the table below and shown in image 1. Further updates on future works will be communicated in due course.

Nixon / Marungi Street Roundabout - eastbound from Marungi Street into Nixon Street – CLOSED.
Movement through the roundabout of Marungi Street and Nixon Street is available.

Every effort will be made to maintain access to private properties throughout the construction period. Road users and pedestrians are reminded to observe all on site signage, detours and direction provided by traffic controllers during the works.
Due to unknown services, wet weather and unforeseen circumstances, project completion is now expected by the end of March 2026, weather permitting.
Council apologises for any inconvenience these works may cause and appreciates the community’s patience and co-operation.
