Greater Shepparton City Council invites individuals, community groups, and organisations to nominate local residents who have made a significant contribution this year, demonstrated outstanding service to the community, or positively impacted Greater Shepparton over many years.
Nominations for the 2026 Australia Day Awards are now open. Residents from Mooroopna, Tatura, Dookie, Murchison and Shepparton can be nominated for an Award across the following seven categories:
Nominations for the 2026 Greater Shepparton Australia Day Awards close on Wednesday 12 November 2025. Nominations for Murchison close on Wednesday 5 November due to an external judging process.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, highlighted the importance of these Awards and encouraged residents to nominate outstanding local citizens who make a difference in the community.
“These Awards are a great opportunity to celebrate the efforts of remarkable community members and give them the recognition they deserve,” he said.
Award winners will be announced on 26 January 2026 with the overall winners for the Greater Shepparton category also being awarded at the Greater Shepparton Australia Day event being held at Riverlinks Eastbank commencing at 2.00pm.
