Greater Shepparton City Council is starting roadworks in Elizabeth Street (between Park Street and McKean Street) and at the intersection of Elizabeth Street and Ann Street, Mooroopna on Tuesday 14 September.
The works are combining the road pavement renewal in Elizabeth Street, with a new roundabout at the intersection of Elizabeth Street and Ann Street. The roundabout works are part of the Mooroopna Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) study which was developed in 2020 following community consultation in late 2019.
Feedback from the community highlighted concerns from the local residents regarding traffic volumes and driver behaviour in the area east of Echuca Road and north of McLennan Street.
The construction of a roundabout at the Elizabeth Street / Ann Street intersection was identified as a high priority treatment for the initial stage of the overall LATM treatment area.
The construction works will start on Tuesday 14 September and are estimated to finish in late November. The working hours will be Monday - Friday, between 7.00am and 6.00pm.
Temporary alternative routes will be sign posted during the works for through traffic. We ask residents and commuters to obey traffic management signage for the duration of works.
If you have any questions please contact the Projects Department on 5832 9700 or email projects@shepparton.vic.gov.au.
